Students hoping to get into a U.S. service academy will have a new source starting this fall when Schreiner University in Kerrville will begin hosting Greystone Preparatory School on campus.

Greystone offers students from around the country a one-year program designed specifically to prepare them for qualification into one of the five United States Service Academics (Annapolis, West Point, the Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy).

Greystone students will be full-time Schreiner freshmen. These students will enroll in Schreiner calculus, chemistry, American history and English composition and rhetoric courses as well as the Freshman IDST (interdisciplinary studies) and physical education courses.

Greystone students will live in L.A. Schreiner Residence Hall and are expected to blend into the campus community as active participants in student activities and events.

Aside from the classroom, Greystone students will be active elsewhere on campus, including athletic facilities and the ball field. Sports participation is a required part of the Greystone program.
